Rural Philanthropy Days is a unique way that Colorado's funding community interacts with the many nonprofit organizations in rural Colorado. In the early 1990s, while conducting research for the first edition of the Colorado Grants Guide, the Community Resource Center (CRC) discovered that only about 3% of the funds granted by Colorado 's private funding community were awarded outside the Front Range.
Now, 20 years later, the CRC and the Anschutz Family Foundation, in partnership with Colorado Foundations and local steering committees throughout the eight rural regions of Colorado, have worked hand-in-hand to produce Rural Philanthropy Days.
Held only once every four years in the Mountain Region, the community of Edwards has been selected to host this year's event.
The Mountain Rural Philanthropy Days seeks to:
Increase the number of grants and the total dollar amount of grants that are made to nonprofit organizations in your counties
Improve regional collaboration among nonprofit organizations and the nonprofit, for-profit and government sectors
Increase the capacity building of local nonprofits to serve their communities more effectively and efficiently
Event Activities for Nonprofits include:
Presentations and discussions with funders about the region’s current needs
Roundtable discussions where funders and nonprofits exchange information, face to face
Social activities and dining events for informal networking
